Traveling to and from work can be stressful. Traveling with children can be stressful. Traveling out of the country or on an airplane can also be stressful. To lessen your stress while you are traveling you need to prepare yourself for the trip, for where you are traveling too and you need to keep your stress levels down so you enjoy your trip for the entire time you are out traveling.
To reduce stress while traveling too and from work, leave yourself plenty of time. In allowing yourself an added fifteen minutes, you can easily reduce the stress you feel in traveling to work everyday. Reduce stress you feel so you are not in a hurry all the time. Waking up early or at least on time all the time is going to help you reduce the stress your feel daily. Reduce your stress while traveling to work by turning the radio on, and listening to some soft music, or at least music of your choice. Soothing noised music you love, is going to help you turn that stress away.
Reduce stress while traveling with children. To reduce your stress, you need to travel at night, when the children are sleeping, or bring along activities that are going to keep the children occupied while you are traveling. Videos, DVD’s, board games, music and such as all great way of keeping your children occupied while you are traveling so they don’t stress you out. Children can easily become bored and cranky. Make sure you are traveling in the shortest routes possible, and during the times when children are not hungry or will want to get out and move around in the sun. Traveling is easiest first thing in the morning and late in the evening.
Stress while traveling is going to be less involved, less noticed if you are to remain calm and cool while you are standing in line, standing waiting to eat, waiting to cross a bridge, waiting to get through the tunnels, even while you are waiting to check into your hotel. Be patient. Remember, you have all the time in the world; you don’t have to be any where at any particular time. You are on vacation and waiting, in slow lines is all about part of being on vacation and while traveling. Take a deep breath and read your book, listen to your music, talk to your family and think about all the good things that are bound to come yet. Leave stress behind by preparing yourself mentally to wait and to be more patient.

Stress and being in debt
Money is a source of stress, no matter how much you have, or don’t have. Stress is brought about by worrying what you are going to do with your money, where you are going to get money, and how you are going to pay the bills next. To lessen the stress in your life, you are going to have to make your money work for you, and your budget. Being on a budget, and sticking to that budget is going to lessen the stress in your life.
If you have too much stress in your life because of stress, you first need to sit down and think about what you have. You have money coming into the home for work, or from any other source. The money you have coming in usually is not going to change. Now you have to seriously think about where you spend your money. If you are spending much of your money on eating out, on going to the movies and not paying the bills, you have some serious thinking to do. You need to list all the expenses for the home.
It can be stressful thinking about how many bills you have, but in the end, you are going to shorten the stressful times in your life as you take control of your bills and expenses. In reviewing where you are spending your money and how you are spending your money, you will have to make a few decisions. Decide where you are going to find an extra $100 per month. This could mean you don’t eat lunch out, that you don’t go to the bar everyday, or perhaps that you are not going to stop at the store every day after work but just one day a week. You need to cut bills, and cut the stress about money in your life so you can feel better about your finances every day.
To cut stress about money, you should also put a plan into effect that will help you create a savings account. A savings account can be started with just five dollars a week. As small as that may be, when you really have an emergency you don’t have to stress out about money because you will have a few bucks in the savings account that will get you through that emergency time. Learn to cut on expenses, and save money, both are great methods of cutting the stress in your life when it all comes down to money!

Stress - Has It Been Long Term
If a person is dealing with stress on a regular basis and doing nothing about it, it will be considered long term stress. Long-term stress can lead to physical or psychological damage to the body. Stress can cause the body the following problem in their life. Physical disorder can be a cause of chronic stress.
Stress can develop into serious problems, like anxiety or depression, which can be even more serious to your health. Both of these problems can be very dangerous for most people. They can cause a person to distance themselves from their loved ones or their career. This will cause the person to feel sad and dysfunctional at the same time. Heart disease is another problem that can come from long-term stress.
Mental and physical stress is a trigger for an unstable angina. This chest pain is caused by lack of oxygen reaching the heart. There is a higher risk for serious heart events like heart attacks. A person can even die from this problem and sudden stress can cause the heart arteries to block. They can stop the flow of blood to the heart.
Stress can also cause the body to have high blood pressure. This problem can harm a person for lot of reason. This can cause a person to have to go on medication to help them lower their blood pressure and it may eventually lead them to have a stroke if it is not taken care of in the proper way.
Long-term stress can cause the immune system to become less effective. This leaves a person vulnerable to colds and other immune problems for their body. Digestive problems can be a cause of prolonged stress. This will irritate the large intestines. A person can be forced to face diarrhea, constipation and bloating.
A person that has been dealing with long-term stress may have diet problems. They may find themselves getting an eating disorder. They may become anorexic or even obese because of the disorder. They may find that food is either the enemy or the comfort when they are dealing with stress. Diabetes is a problem that chronic stress can develop. It can also lead to arthritis for some people and the ability to control these problems may be clouded by the stress.
Many people may also have to deal with sleep disorders when they are dealing with stress. They can find that they are tired and anxious all the time and they will be missing out on the sleep that is so important for them to get. They may turn to sleeping pills and other methods to get the rest that they are longing for. However, this can cause more problems later down the road.

Stress - You Can Help Others
If you know someone that is dealing with a lot of stress, you may want to help him or her deal with it. You can do some things in order to get them through their difficult periods and continue to see them through the entire dilemma that stress can bring to someone’s life. It is important for you to be a good method of support for them and to let them know that you are always going to be there for them.
If you are trying to help someone with stress, you need to be a good support for him or her. Call them as often as you can. Ask how they are doing and if they need anything. Be there for the person when they want to talk and open up about things. This can be one of the best ways to help someone that is dealing with stress and needs to find help.
If a person is alone, you can call them up and ask to dinner. Invite them over to the house to watch a movie or play board games. Do anything that you can in order to involve them in some form of physical activity. If they are depressed from stress, being alone may only add to their problems and may even create more in the end.
Being a true friend means being there to lend a hand and help when necessary. When a person is suffering from stress, they may not ask for help that they want. It is important that you are looking for the signs and know when you need to intervene with some help. You can make a difference to them just by being their friend. This is the most that you can do for them to help them in a bad situation.
Watch for the warning signs of stress and the depression that it can cause. Look for signs of distress like not eating, staying at home all the time, pushing away friends and loved ones, not going to work and if their appearance suddenly changes. These are all signs that there may be a problem in their life and they may need to have a little extra attention from their friends and other method of support.
Just be a friend and help them get through the tough times. Offer you hand and tell them that it will be all right. This is the most effective way that you can help someone when they are dealing with stress.

Stress - Take Control And Make A List
It's time to take control of stress.
If you are trying to figure out what is causing all of the stress in your body, you may want to do some research. This is something that you can do on your own to find a way to pin point the problems and to get started with the treatments of them. You should sit down and think about the problems that you are having in your life and what you can do to change the situation.
Make a well thought out list of all the problems that you are facing in your life. Think about these problems and what you are worried about. When you are thinking about what is disrupting your life, you may find the answers to the questions of what is causing all of your problems and your stress.
Think of all the people that are adding to your stress. This will include all relationships both at home and at work. Figure out what the problems are with these people and if you need to have them in your life or if they are someone that you should distance yourself from. There is nothing wrong with ending a relationship that is in turmoil. You should be prepared to do this if it is relevant to your health and well-being.
Think of things that you can do to improve your lifestyle. If you are eating the right things, taking the time to exercise and get the proper nutrients for your body. Are you talking about your feelings with others? Do you need to find a different career path? These are examples that you need to think about when you are trying to define your life and what is causing you the most problems with stress.
Do not forget about the humor and entertainment in your life. You have to include these things into your life so that you are taking a break from the stress that can build up. You should jot down the things that you like to do and what makes you happy. Make sure that you are applying these things to your life so that you can become a better and well-rounded person.
Make sure that you are going over your lists on a regular basis. Make the necessary changes where they are needed and take the time to enjoy things. You need to stop and smell the roses once in a while to maintain a healthy outlook on life. You will find that once you apply this list, you will watch your stress disappear for good.

Stress - Some Thoughts And An Introduction
Some years ago, Warren had a heart attack. The reason ("the straw that broke the camel's back") was stress. Of course the stage was set by a few other factors such as being over weight, not eating healthy, being a workaholic, the job, just to mention a few things that also contributed. But ultimately, stress built up and was not handled.
Considering that our world today is fast paced, and many factors lead up to stress being an every day participant in our lives, we feel that this is a subject we should examine and provide some insights into what you can do to reduce or relieve stress in your or a love one's life.
With this in mind, we will begin a series of posts about stress, it's many aspects, and ways you can handle or reduce it. Naturally, we will probably need to touch (maybe heavy handed in some cases) on other factors that may very well open the door to the serious consequences of stress. To be blunt, allowing yourself to "fail" in several other areas sets the stage for stress related problems including disease, mental disorders, and even death.
Stay tuned for this new series. It starts tomorrow. See you then.

A Healthy Diet while Traveling
(This the third of 3 posts about healthy eating.)
Sticking to a healthy diet while traveling can be one of the most difficult things to do in your life. However, if you learn how to make smart choices, a healthy diet is really not that difficult. This is probably not the best time in which to start a healthy diet, but if you are currently making healthy choices in your foods already, modifying your diet slightly to accommodate travel is not as it first may seem.
If you are traveling by airplane, a healthy diet may have to include airplane food, which can often be poor for your health, depending on the selection. When you book your flight, ask about your food options ask if a vegetarian dish is available. Vegatarian dishes are sometimes more nutritional in this case, but it really depends on what they will be serving. If you can, eat a larger meal before your flight so that you don't have to eat the entire meal that is served to feel full.
When driving or taking a bus, you may be tempted to stop at fast food restaurants and eat the foods found there. Avoid this whenever possible! If you're on vacation, you may wish to splurge a tiny bit, but having fast food more than once during a week can really be bad for your health. If you must, choose the healthiest options available, like chicken breasts and diet soda.
Also, remember that you can take your own food when traveling. Carrying a loaf of whole-wheat bread or pita wraps, some lean lunchmeat, and low-fat cheese in a cooler is a great way to avoid high-fat and high-cholesterol junk food meals. These are much better choices and you'll save a lot of money as well. Call ahead to ask if there will be a refrigerator in your hotel room.
Lastly, make smart choices when you eat out. If you choose salads or pasta get the dressing on the side and ask about low-carb options. In fact, many places print these dieting options directly in the menu for the health-conscious people. Control your portions by ordering lunch menu sizes or splitting the meal in half and getting a doggie bag, and you'll be well on your way to healthy eating, even away from home.
Yes, eating healthy foods when you travel can be a challenge. However, your health is worth it. When you eat good foods, you will also fight illnesses that you are likely to encounter when traveling and be more alert so that you can enjoy your trip.

Healthy Eating at a Restaurant: Is it Possible?
(This is the second of 3 posts about healthy eating)
If you and your family love to eat at restaurants, you may think that this lifestyle is not good for a healthy diet. In many cases, you would be correct. However, you can still enjoy restaurants occasionally and maintain your healthy diet. Its all about making good food choices, which starts with learning about the nutrition you need to stay happy, physically healthy, mentally stable, and active.
When you pick up the menu, start by skipping over the drink section. Although you may be tempted to enjoy a beer or mixed beverage with your dinner, these usually have many empty calories, which is not good for your body. The exception to this rule when it comes to alcohol is wine, especially red wine, which can be fine if you have a single glass and can actually help prevent heart disease for some patients.
Also skip over the appetizer menu, unless it's to over a side salad. The appetizers at restaurants are usually high-fat foods that are not meant to fill you up and can in fact make you crave even more high fat foods. Examples of these are mozzarella sticks, potato skins, and wings. Instead, simply focus on your main course or, if you must indulge, share a single serving with the entire table of people.
When choosing your main dish, it is of course important that you look at the ingredients of the dish. Anything with cream sauces or high-fat meats should be avoided, and pass up the potatoes or onion rings. Instead over side dishes like vegetables or ask for jus the main course when possible.
Remember too that portion is everything. Order off of the lunch menu whenever you can, and ask for a doggie bag right away. Split your meal in half from the start so that you are not tempted to eat the entire thing, which is usually enough for two or three portions.
At the end of your meal, skip over the desert menu, just like you did with the appetizers. Again, you can share a single desert with the entire table if you feel compelled to order something, or split your portion in half. Many fancy desserts in restaurants have more calories than your entire meal, so keep this in mind before you flag down the waitress to put in an order! Of course, on special occasions, it's alright to cheat a little, but overall healthy eating requires lots of resisting temptation around you.
